Can I store my MIG and Plasma Cutter outside?

I have a cheap MIG and Plasma Cutter currently residing in my garage. When I need to do some work I pull everything out, run a heavy extension cord to the equipment, and do the welding in the driveway OR pull out the cars and do the welding inside but the grinding outside. Even though I only weld one/two times per month it is a royal pain in the *** to pull everything out.I am thinking about running 220V to my "carport" (an 18'x18' metal carport with no walls and slag for a floor) and building some sort of cabinet to store my MIG, PC, and grinders, etc. I am in SC and the humidity is very high. I'm wondering if this is a bad idea or not. Reply:I'm sure the extra humidity won't help.  But I'd also be concerned about someone "borrowing" it, then not bothering to return it.
Reply:Keep it dry and I would see no issues. I'm sure the extra humidity won't help. would the humidity be the same in the garage as the carport? Not trying to start any thing just asking. BTW what did you say your address was?Remember out of sight out of mind. TJ
Reply:i see security being the main issue. A cabinet in a carport wouldn't be much different than a truck box where hundreds of plazma cutters send the night.
Reply:My carport is behind a privacy fence so no one can see what is in it.
