Anyone have info on making one? Thanks,
Reply:I don't ,but have been thinking the same thing lately --just as an exercise in wonder if I could build one.I've got an old self-contained countertop soft drink dispenser that has cooling coils.... I was thinking at first about running a coil in it for an air compressor air line cooler, but with a small re-circulating pump in a line and an additional coil in the tank wouldn't that work as a cooling system for a tig torch as well? A two for one unit.I know next to nothing about a tig torch cooler---I'm just assuming it is nothing more than a small chiller that has a closed system re-circulating coolant/water thru the tig torch head. The factory units seem to be expensive(but compact) and I really haven't researched them much and would be interested in someone with more knowledge about them giving a general idea about how they function.

Reply:Pretty good write-up.... That's about how I figured it worked..the little radiator/cooler is neat(good idea) the information about no anti-freeze is good too. The correct pressure & flow rate specs to prevent torch damage are the best though. Thanks for the link. Question?-- Is there a temperature you 'don't' want to chill the torch head down to...just wondered if you could cool the head too much and affect the torch operation or is cooler better than warmer?
