Reply:This may help or may not. It is a page I made a while back regarding different processes. It is by no means all inclusive but it may help you.http://www.weldingdata.com/processopinions.htm Have a nice daygeraldHave a nice dayhttp://www.weldingdata.com/
Reply:how big of a mig do you need how much voltage
Reply:Well, the wall thickness is going to vary with the pipe diameter...You're not big on giving details with your questions are you?
Reply:1 3/8 sch. 40 i need to notch and weld themi have a mm 251 30th e70 wire
Reply:1" Schedule 40 is the actual size if the OD is 1.315.GMAW would work fine. It is really more dependent upon your skills and abilities.Have a nice dayhttp://www.weldingdata.com/
Reply:A MM251 should have enough snot to do single-pass GMAW on schedule 40 pipe up to a 4 inch pipe or so.The machine should work fine for your smaller diameter pipe (turn the machine down a bit from all-out-nuke).MIG or TIG with the appropriate machine, either would work. If you have a MIG machine, then you'll MIG it. The best laid schemes ... Gang oft agley ...
Reply:i have a dynasty 200 dx and was cert. for sch. 40 stainless tigthat was almost 10 years ago
Reply:If those were my machines, I'd use the MM251 if in the shop on clean steel. If this is field work, I'd probably Stick weld it with the Dynasty. |
