Reply:Practice at other angles. As the angle increases, you see what the puddle wants to do and what you have to do accordingly.
Reply:i found that for myself a u shaped pattern works good for vertical. just be sure to hold on the edge for a hair to keep from under cutting. and with a slight angle to keep the tip pointed up. you just need to practice and find a pattern that you like.
Reply:Actually 6010 or 11 is about the easiest type of rod to run vertically. Just taking a wild a$$ guess from what i see a lot of people do is that they put too much up angle in the rod. You talking about running vertically up, right?
Reply:try running some 1109 first. :-) people need to quit asking questions like this before searching the forums. This question has been answered 1000 times on here. --Gol'
Reply:Searching for the numerals 6010, I found threads having to do with everything under the sun! This one was a good thread though, I thought. http://weldingweb.com/vbb/showthread.php...highlight=6010City of L.A. Reply:I could only get that 1109 to run overhead.
Reply:E6010 electrodes are cellulosic and primarily designed for positional work vertical down.Cheers
Reply:6010 is one of the few rods allowed to go vertical down. It will weld either way. One who hasn't mastered vertical up shouldn't be trying vertical down in my opinion. But then my opinion means nothing.
