Reply:If I was MIG or stick welding, I'd swipe at a soapstone mark with a glove to get off most of the mark, and then go with it. Small amounts shouldn't remain inside the weld any more than any other particle of slag or millscale that might be there. If I were TIG welding, I'd clean it more. Marker marks won't make any difference, as it will pretty much all burn away before your puddle gets to it. |
