Help with Old Hobart

Hello, I'm looking for info on an old hobart AC/DC cart.I have not found the name plate or a model number.Can someone id it from the pictures? Does anyone have a manual for this machine? (Please!!!)The previous owners have modified it for a home made foot pedal. They also set it up to run on only one of the primary 220 windings instead of paralling them. I don't know why they would do that, any ideas?It looks like there is no contactor for the primary, just a large contactor for turning on the DC on the secondary side. Not having a primary contactor seems kinda strange as you have to unplug it to turn it off.I would like to know what the proper foot pedal is for this machine.The current control rheostat inside the machine is 75 ohm 150W.The home made foot pedal was made with a 500 ohm 150W rheostat, and was wired in series with the internal rheostat, this doesn't seem right. Reply:Also, if anyone has a source of parts for the Tru-ohm brand of rheostat's please let me know.I need the small ceramic part of the hub.I've seen the repair kits for the ohmite brand of rheostats, but nothing for the Memco or Tru-ohm.Thanks!
Reply:Cumberland Electronics in Harrisburg, PA may be able to help you with the rheostat.  Phone: 800-922-2271.  They have a huge inventory of stuff, and are able to get just about anything involved with electonics.There are several Welding Supply houses on line now that have large inventories also.  Email them and ask.Good Luck
