Hello, thought I'd post some pictures of a couple welding positioners I made from stuff I had laying around. This one has a 6" chuck and max. 10 rpm. Anyhow, if anyone is interrested I will post pictures of the other 9" positioner (in the first picture) which is 5 rpm. max. but near twice the torque of this one.

Reply:That's really nice.  The motor assy. looks sort of like power feeds for a milling machine."Any day above ground is a good day"http://www.farmersamm.com/

Thanks for posting it.I'm wondering about a few things:What kind of bearing arrangement behind the chuck? What was the original application for the little gear-motors?Does the motor still have decent chatter-free torque when slowed way down with the light dimmer? Thanks and Good Luck
