Does anyone have any plans as how to make security guard for inside of windows hinged or not hinged.would want something strong so what kind of metal & size would be ok. This would be for a club house with windows 32" wide x 36" high also if anything on security for the door would be great 6' /8" high x 36" wide I know i can buy these already made but they are to expensive so i need to try & build these. Out side guards are not an option because of insurance code. Thanks for your help
Reply:What kind of insurance says they have to be inside? If they are the only exit to the outside from that room (point of egress) they have to be outside so that they can be removed by the fire dept. in an emergency.1/2" square stock every 4" O.C. on 1/4"x 1 1/2".
Reply:Just be sure to check the applicable codes for whatever jurisdiction you will be placing the windows in, then check on plans and/or styles. This is one of those where nothing you read on the internet applies unless it is specifically within the exact same jurisdiction as you plan on doing the work in.
Reply:Check with you county code dept. Most will have some sort of detailed drawing.Co-Own CNC shop:Miller :1251 plasma cutter, MaxStar 700 TIG/Stick, & XMT 456 Multiprocess Welder.& 2 Hypertherm HPR260's Plasma CutterSorry I had a bad stroke but now I am back.
