I have a question about degrees in autocad.I drew a picture and asked if it could be drawn in cad and he said that you cant connect the lines if you dont know the degree.. for example: my my drawing I had the left and top dimensions at 90 degrees from each other.  Then I had the left and bottom dimensions without degrees.  Other than doing some math to figure it out, can cad connect the dots? Reply:yesIf you have 4 dims and one corner is @ 90 then acad will do it for you. work with acad alot. 83 degreesTW9Y GeorgiaAnnamel TW9Y Georgia
Reply:On CAD (I think) you'll either have to know one of degrees or just draw your 46.6875 and 16 lines then rotate to meet.  I'm sure there's an easier way in CAD but I don't have enough experience with it.EDIT:  That's what happens when you walk off in the middle of posting DewayneDixieland WeldingMM350PLincoln 100Some torchesOther misc. tools

Reply:One way to skin this cat is to use circles and intersections.  At the end of the leg that is 10” long; draw a circle that is center snapped to the end point with a radius of 46 11/16”.   Draw a second circle at the end of the 48.25” leg with a radius of 16”.   You then draw a line for the end point of the 48.25” leg to the intersection of the circles.  You then finish by drawing the last leg from the end the 10” leg to the end point or the circle intersection of the 16” leg.  You finish by erasing the circles.  enjoy...
Reply:The circles and intersections worked pretty slick.. Not sure why I didnt think of that before.  ThanksCommon sense in an uncommon degree is what the world calls wisdom.

Reply:One of the cad systems I use ocationally (don't remember which job has which... Autocad, Alibre, Cadkey, and one or another of the parametric modelers are the options) has a widget for four bar linkages that does this without the circles. Set up the four bars by length, pick one angle, the rest is automatic.
Reply:that is easly found using auto cad.. You don't need to know the degrees.
Reply:Should have read to the end before i did this, but i'll post it anyway in case someone didn't follow Billdacat's narrative. Attached ImagesA butterfly without wings, is just an ugly bug
