i was curious how many on here are sanitary process tube welders /fitters???im in chicago and theres not to many good ones in the area.bob

Reply:i go into packing houses and hospital and weld ss pipe all the time. The trick is not to rush it. I live in nebraska, be a hell of a drive to chicago, but would drive there and do it for you.
Reply:I've done a lot of sanitary piping for food process and pharmaceutical plants...  but I wouldn't classify myself as only a sanitary piping welder.  I can usually do it as good as the next guy, but have done a lot of other stuff too.
Reply:I've spent the better part of the last 15 years in packing houses and juice plants doing sanitary welds on stainless tube. Here's a small job we did not too long ago, we made all the conveyor belts and all but one holding tank,  the 3 Extractors are made by FMC Attached ImagesI am what I am, Deal with it!If necessity is the Mother of Invention, I must be the Father of Desperation!
Reply:I've never done the tubes but a lot of work on tanks, counter tops and railsThe difference between art and craft is the quality of the workmanship. I am an artist.
Reply:dabar,thats the shiot that ive been into for the past 17 yrs.your in florida?  have you herd of a company called something like TPS??they do alot of tropicana plants and alot of travel.anyways cool to see some other stainless guys out therebob
Reply:Bob, Never heard of them but we have a rather large Tropicana plant in the next town over that I've done some work in. I'll ask the Maintenance Engineer about them next time I'm in there. Reply:yeah mate we do a lot of s/s sanitary / food grade stuff.Lots of tanks, hoppers, ducting, materials handling and pipe/tube work as well as all of the brackets and platforms and bits and pieces to hold it and get to it. The vast majority of our work is done at or for large dairy companies that operate dryers for milk powder or cheese/lactose/whey plants.We do some mild steel stuff, platforms/ladders or pump stands etc, but mostly s/s
Reply:Tin tappers Are you at synlait jgst?  I'm over on the boiler...I'd rather be hunting........USE ENOUGH HEAT.......Drifting around Aussie welding more pipe up, for something different.....wanting to get home.
Reply:No mate, did quite a bit in the workshop for there and bluff, off to edendale shoetly for silo replacement, then back to studholme for the off season fix ups........
