I havnt been here in a while, Im looking at this welder the owner knows almost nothing about it, I believe its a lincoln weldanpower? Can anyone I.D this from the picture, might be a long shot but I just want a idea of what it is. The guy wanted $800.00 for it, he said it runs and welds and includes the stinger, ground and leads. I told him Id give him my yamaha banshee for trade since I dont ride much, look like a good deal? The guys a few hours away so I want some opinions before I waste my time and gas going.
Reply:I thank you are right the leads look nice and long but before i would get it i would try it out
Reply:Looks like a weldan power, I have watched quite a few sell on ebay and locally $800 IMO,seems to be about right by the looks of it, I have seen some sell higher and lower. Has it been inside? ran recently? any hourmeter? Just some food for thought from previous experiances..as Jerry said I would want to hear it run and run a bead or two....Good condition long leads make a differance as well .....JimLincoln Power Mig 255Hobart Stickmate AC/DCMiller AEAD 200LECutmaster 81
Reply:If you need the welder and it works, that is a fine trade. I think it is a Weldanpower 8000...I think. It is the predecesor to the ranger 8, which share some of the same parts/designs.Esab Migmaster 250Lincoln SA 200Lincoln Ranger 8Smith Oxy Fuel setupEverlast PowerPlasma 80Everlast Power iMIG 160Everlast Power iMIG 205 Everlast Power iMIG 140EEverlast PowerARC 300Everlast PowerARC 140STEverlast PowerTIG 255EXT
Reply:Thanks guys, I'll definatly be running a few beads, only info he had on it was he purchased it from a auction to thaw pipes, someone told him it wasnt big enough so he wanted it gone. He wasnt a welder so a lot of my questions went straight over his head. He did say he used it to weld some teeth on a loader bucket, so Im sure it works but Ill definatly try it out.
Reply:Make sure the automatic idle up is working perfectly. If not, allow a deduct of 150.00 bucks to get it repaired. It could be bad connections or it could be a circuit board, but I would err on the side of caution and my pocketbook.Esab Migmaster 250Lincoln SA 200Lincoln Ranger 8Smith Oxy Fuel setupEverlast PowerPlasma 80Everlast Power iMIG 160Everlast Power iMIG 205 Everlast Power iMIG 140EEverlast PowerARC 300Everlast PowerARC 140STEverlast PowerTIG 255EXT
Reply:Looks like the old Weldanpower 225 G7 to me.Being it was used for thawing water pipes, I suggest you weld in every heat setting before you buy this thing. Thawing pipes is hard on these machines. I refused to do it.Good Luck.
Reply:He said he bought it recent to thaw pipes but never actually did it because someone he knew advised him not to, but I'm definatly bringing some scrap up to run some beads.
Reply:Watch out for that onan engine, they are great if maintained but very expensive to fix if bad. Machine will run 7018 1/8 all day and pretty good with 5/32 as well."Si Vis Pacem Para Bellum"Lincoln Idealarc 250 AC/DCMillermatic 251 Syncrowave 300 30A spoolgunLincoln MP210Hypertherm 45(2) LN 25(2) Lincoln Weldanpower 225 CV(4) SA200 1 short hood SA250 SAM 400 |
