Welding Goggles #10

Hi just bought these welding goggles, got them home, inside the bag is a note that says you cannot weld with these goggles.They are rated #10 meets ANSI Z.87.1.1989, What are they good for?

Reply:Ok, well here goes, first time I tried to post on this site.By the way, thanks for the laugh about the racoon remark, I might save these for haloween.I think you could probably use them for torch cutting. The idea here was to wear them while I used this stud welder I also just bought. The last pic is the project I'm trying to complete.Thanks Again. Attached Images
Reply:For the stud welder, I would just wear clear safety glasses. That's me though. Clear safety glasses will reflect over 99% of UV light. If you start seeing spots, some good sunglasses will work fine. That stud welder will throw some spatter, so be sure that whatever you wear will protect your eyes from the tiny hot bits of metal.Just for kicks, try welding a stud on a drop of water.Miller EconotigCutmaster 38Yes ma'am, that IS a screwdriver in my pocket!
