Hi, I am a newbie. Please excuse my lack of knowledge on this.I bought a welder which looks like this:http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=270361581622AIRCO Airomatic DC Rectifier Welder 250 AMP I need a mig gun for it. The guy who sold me the welder said that I need a tweco gun. What kind of tweco gun do I need? I also saw #1, 2,3,4. Is it true that these #s just corresponds to the wire size, not the fitting? The guy sold me the welder showed me a gun that appears to have a socket to plug some electric wire into it.Also, what kind of gas tank do I need? Would any welder tank works? I understand I will have to fill them with CO2 and argon (75/25). However, would I buy an oxygen tank, and fill with different gas? What about the air regulator (I don't have one)? Is there any standard with fitting on these? So many questions, but I am really clueless on this.
Reply:I don't know anything about that machine. If buying used, you can buy any kind of bottle and take it to the local gas supplier and trade it in for the bottle/gas you need for your application. If the bottle you bring in is out of date, they'll usually charge you for hydro test. If the bottle you bring in is smaller than what you want, they'll charge an upgrade fee. That is how it works at the local shops around here anyways.MM350P/Python/Q300MM175/Q300DialarcHFHTP MIG200PowCon300SMHypertherm380ThermalArc185Purox oaF350CrewCab4x4LoadNGo utilitybedBobcat250XMT304/Optima/SpoolmaticSuitcase12RC/Q300Suitcase8RC/Q400Passport/Q300Smith op |
