Should i buy this welder?

AC only , AND ac-DC. The DC part ,I believe  only goes to about 125 amps . Otherwise ,they are NICE machines. If it welds good , it's a HECK of a deal.[SIZE="5"Yardbird"
Reply:If its the ac/dc yes grab it.the output on these is 225 ac and 150 dc they are a great little stick welder for any 1/8 rods ,used them in our high school shop years ago and their still going strong                 Felon
Reply:I own (and use) one. Mine is the older model without the tiny little leads built in. I paid $200 for mine a few years ago with about 75 foot of big copper leads. It works great. Maximum current on AC is 225A, 150A on DC. Its not clear from your post if the one you are looking at is AC only or AC/DC. Get an AC/DC machine if you can. Reply:I have the A/C-D/C thunderbolt I bought from a school ag shop for $150. It welds great w/ 60 and 70 series rod. I don't use it a lot as most of my projects are lite gauge  done w/ my MM 175 mig. It's like every other kind of tool, when you need it the mig won't substitute for it. Reply:I emailed the owner (his add did'nt include a phone #) to ask him which it is the AC only or the AC/DC .If it is the AC only i'm not interested(i have a tombstone).
