Today i tried welding a piece from a garden tiller and could'nt get it to work at all. It was a round shaft that the tiller tines are welded too and the factory weld broke. So i ground everything clean and put it back together where it broke at and tried welding it. No matter what i did i couldn't get a stable arc. just kept going out. terrible cold looking welds. My settings were all fine i was using lincoln nr 211mp. So i thought it was my welder so i tried on another piece of steel and it ran super smooth just as always, nice good pentrating bead. Why would'nt it work on the tiller tine part? Different type of steel? Or was it because i welded to the factory weld? Thanks for the help guysShaneYa gotta spend money to make money!
