I've got this Lincoln welder it has a 16 hp Briggs&Stratton engine on it .I've had it about 15 years

Reply:The age,model.The face plate has been changed,I think its a Ranger but not sure which one
Reply:If the face plate has chancsd it must have been a direct replace item. It looks like a weldanpower to me. I may be wrong becuase its been 23 years since I've used one. They were ok welders for their day and if they're running fine and have enough aux power for you keep using it til she blows. The one i used didn't have such a great muffler, they really barked.Tough as nails and damn near as smart
Reply:It's not a Ranger.  The Ranger line had not come out yet when that one was made. I believe the face plate is original.  If not then it was a replacement as it is the same as the original would have been.  Go to the Lincoln website, and run the serial and code number and you can find out most anything you want to know about it.I'm a Lover, Fighter, Wild horse Rider, and a pretty good welding man......
Reply:There are no serial#s or codes on the face plate.Oh well she runs great and welds good for what I do.(mostly ranch work) I still got the SA200 when I get her running for everthing else.Thanks guys
Reply:The Weldanpower is a fine welder.The city bus sized muffler makes me thinks that someone has already visited the noise issue. If the face plate has been changed, you could check to see if there's an extra "click" for CV mode, other than that I can't think of any reason to worry about the plate.If the machine ever sees rain, you should seal the gap around the lifting strap; originally that had a rubber boot around it.The fence posts are sure lined up purdy. Reply:Yes,I used a transit to line them up and to cut them off,works pretty good.ThanksI was thinking about selling the Weldanpower,but don't know what its worth.I guess what the market will bear.
Reply:In the upper left of that particular unit there should be model # and the serial#. Then go to the Lincoln web page and run the numbers. The only way there wouldn't be any numbers on that face place is if the original was damaged and they replaced it.Take a close up picture of that upper left portion of the front face plate. If there are any numbers I can run them and give you the info.Tomadd on I tried to blow up the picture looked like there might be some number but I could not make them out. What specific info are you looking for on that unit? Reply:It looks like a Lincoln G9 Pro (almost).On the middle right of the panel you have and extra switch.So maybe yours is Pro Pro. It's a start on you getting more info.  I have a neighbor that has one in the next series and he loves it.
