Hi guys, Im asking this on behalf of a friend, I dont do MIG so i couldnt help. Its pretty simple what im asking. My friend has a really good workshop full of all sorts of interesting stuff. He is used to stick welding but has now got his hands on this MIG set for a project hes working on. Basicly he wants to weld 2mm mild steel so what im asking is what settings would he need to use? If someone could take a look at the pic of his welder and tell me how to set it up this would be a big help, Thanks very much Attached Images
Reply:2mm is very thin stuff. (.080")There may be a chart on the inside of the door for the wire spool with settings for various thickness of metal. I'd check that out first.JasonLincoln Idealarc 250 stick/tigThermal Dynamics Cutmaster 52Miller Bobcat 250Torchmate CNC tableThermal Arc Hefty 2Ironworkers Local 720
Reply:Yeah, 2mm is thin but hes only got a stick and mig welder, so its got to be done with the mig. Im just looking for a idea on setting the welder up? |
