I need assistance on coming up with a procedure, wire size, amperage and voltage on being able to run without getting pinholes or burning through. I need to keep the speed around 40- 47 inches per minute. The thickness we are running is 1/4" wall. We are running D/C 480 Amps on the inside and 27 Volts and D/C 600 and 31 Volts on the outside, we are running 47-48 inches per minute now. The issue is piholes at this rate, if we turn the heat up to get rid of the piholes we burn through. We have 1 5/16" stickout on the ID welder at these settings. OD welder seams to be dooing just fine, all of the trouble is coming from the ID weld.
Reply:You need an on site consultant for this, which apparently is some form of code work;with the end application use subject to codes---whether you realize this or not. There's all manner of variables and unknowns that need to beobserved, first hand, to get your process established, the results inspectedand certified and tested to show repeatability of the WPS.Since you're the shop manager, it's time to establish in writingexactly what your goal is, then search, recruit, interview, contract, delegate and manage.Blackbird |
