Tig terminology?

As I do not tig everyday and may be showing my ???. When the term walking the cup is used does it mean that the cup touches the metal ?  Thanks Jim

Reply:...Learn something new everyday.  I've never seen a roto head TIG torch.  But a quick search on google turned one up.  What a crazy idea.  I don't see why you couldn't use a roto head torch and cup walking technique.  I'd have to use one for a while to guess if it would help or just get in the way.Try it and tell us what you think... Reply:You could try it, but I could see it becoming more of a hindrance than helpful as you come around the top of the pipe because of the fixed angle on the handle.
