Adding to the welding table

Hey,I just finished to build the easiest project ever, my fume exhauster. I followed Scott and Franz ideas. However one last question. I do not have a dedicated space for my shop ( I rely on my wife's pitty) so I decided that I am going to attached the blower to my welding table. I am going to protect it from the sparkling of course, but my concern is the magnetic process. If I mount the motor on a wooden shelf without any contact at all with the metal parts of the table it will be fine Correct?Thank youAlfredo
