Here's another one I swiped and hauled here.If you want a cheap air filter system, that isn't going to waste heat, this is an idea to work from.http://www.woodcentral.com/shots/shot112.shtmlAppreciation Gains You Recognition-
Reply:another option for the filters would be to use the filter bags from a vacuum truck, or a large central dust control system. the ones we use in our trucks (www.guzzler.com) are about 6" in diameter, and either 60" or 70" long. our cost on them is less than $10 (we buy them by the thousands though, so ymmv.
Reply:Please send me 6 for testing and evaluation purposes. I'll let you know how well they worked in about 9 months after I finish testing them on my wife's minivactor when she is finished with leaves in the fall.20 feet of 4" suction hose would help too.Thank you.Appreciation Gains You Recognition-
Reply:Interesting that you said "vactor".... That is the name of the company that I work for. the Vactor and Guzzler product lines are designed and built in scenic Streator, IL. It's really cool to play with 400 Hp, 27" Hg vacuum cleaners... the inlet hose is 8", but you could adapt it down to 4" if you really wanted to.... Attached Images
Reply:Good company to work for, especially when the wife wants you to help with cleaning up the house. "Sure hon, I'll bring the vacuum home tomorrow, start taping down the small stuff"OK, just send 8" hose, I'll adapt the inlet flange on my blower, and figure out something for a counterbalance for the hose so my wife can suck leaves out of her flower gardens. If I keep the blower RPM down most of her mulch should stay. I can swipe enough design concept off your web site to make it happen. Those machines are real popular around here with the towns, for catchbasin cleaning, and would you believe watering newly planted trees. Of course, when you tell them how well they work for excavation the people at the DPW just give you very strange looks. NAW, can't be done, and you could never use one as a rescue appiratus to get a man out of a cavein either.Appreciation Gains You Recognition-
Reply:Don't want to get to OT but as a follow up to Franz's last post, a friend of mine works for Badger Daylighting. http://www.badgerinc.com/. Interesting operation. A fellow in Toronto died in a trench cave in last month or so and I said at the time he could have been saved by one of these trucks. They almost had the guy out but the trench caved in a second time.Al
