Got these plans for a small 3 point (for tractor) backhoe a while back from Cad plans . Anyone messed with these and have any heads up. In other words, what mistakes did you make, so I can avoid the same and what would you have done differently. Not sure when/if I will build it, but want to research a little now while time is plentifull.
Reply:There was considerable talk about them on Tractorbynet.com a while back, and as I recall, just the cutting was a major undertaking for some guys. I seem to recall there was some outfit selling a precut set of weldments for the thing, and pricing worked out better than buying your own steel and doing the cutting.I don't think there are many problems for a guy who knows how to weld, but it would probably be a chalenge for somebody learning to weld as he built the digger.Make damn sure you have proper lifting equipment to handle the pieces, if you buy a hoe to save your back it would be a shame to blow the back building the machine.Appreciation Gains You Recognition- |
