finally got it put together; weighs a ton but rolls easy and solid as steel.hmm, no picture...try again.
Reply:ok, try again to see what happenswell, it looks like it took the picture but I had to reduce it to the point of real bad. Attached Images
Reply:try one more... Attached Images
Reply:OK, that was better. try one more now. Notice the "no tools" adjuster nuts on the jaws? more to come. Attached Images
Reply:Looks real good. What did you make the tray out of?
Reply:the tray was a stainless drip pan my dad brought home years ago and ended up laying around my place. I thought this was the perfect application for said pan and so put it to use. I think it's 1/8 but have not measured.
Reply:Nice stand Ryel, I'm anxiously awaiting the "no tools" adjuster nuts pics. That's my biggest bitch about the saw.
Reply:I will get the adjuster pictures when I get home but really all I did was cut two pieces of steel tube and weld the nut and washer on one and the bolt and washer on the other (originals) and then drill the top for a 1/4" X 4" bolt to act as a handle. Maybe an hour tops. you can see them in the third picture but I will post a close-up later.
Reply:well now, let us see if this works: Attached Images
Reply:is it just the camera angle or is your new stand not any taller than the original one ?
Reply:not much taller, it is a pretty good height for vert. work so I left it at that.
Reply:very true, it is at a good height for that.
Reply:Thanks for the picture Ryel. I see a modification in my bandsaws near future.
Reply:Made the handle for the bolt today. Such a simple modification, wish I had thought of it myself. Thanks again Ryel ! Attached Images |
