best place to buy welding rods?

Do any of you guys buy your rods off the internet and what sites do you guys go through?I assume that it is better to buy in bulk? I am really only looking for 6010 and 7018. thanks for the help.
Reply:I buy it at a local welding supply store.  If you want to be welding for a long time, build up a relationship with the local shop.  Usually the price is not labled, i bought a couple of pounds of er70s2 and several days later, i needed more, and bought it from a different salesman.  the second salesman was cheaper.  I always call to make sure the guy's there before i go down there.i've gotten an argon regulator for $45 when the cheapest internet price was 120.$20 per fill up/exchange for my argon.bought aluminum filler rod for wayyy cheap (checked the web price after i got home)I'm not saying dont shop on the web, just sayin' give your local shop a chance or two, they might be cheaper then web price.BTW, post your location in profile, there might be people local to you who can recommend a shop.
Reply:Oxy..............The price depends on how much you buy from the supplier.  There's a multi tiered price deal.  Regular buyer, usually lower.  Sometime, or first time,  buyer higher price.  It doesn't seem fair, but it is what it is.I keep them honest by telling them what other suppliers are charging me for the same thing.  It's a world of suckers with money, and shopkeepers that wanna take it away from ya.Your LWS is just maybe a step above the used car dealer on the opposite side of the street.  Beware, and don't put up with crap.  It's your money"Any day above ground is a good day"http://www.farmersamm.com/
