Reply:if you order online you can get it for $59.99You have to put these part number in the "order from printed catalog" part on the left hand side. Use these numbers. or if you print out the sale price and take it to the store. most stores will honor sale prices on the website since it's all one entity. Number for Bench Bender ITEM 38471-2TGA $39.97 Number for Compact Bender (floor mount) ITEM 38470-6TGA $59.97Last edited by morpheus; 03-18-2004 at 11:44 AM.
Reply:Morpheus,That's how I found mine for 79 when the web price was 139... then in the course of the past week, they lowered the prices twice!  lol.  Oh well.
Reply:if you're not interested in the floor or bench mount... you might want to consider this...http://www.clubfte.com/users/jniolon...ypeBender.htmljohn
Reply:If you have a Tractor Supply close by you might also check there, I bought my compact bender there for $59.97 It is a Clark, but looks the same other than the paint scheme as the Harbor Freight one. I purchased the Harbor Freight scroll attachment for $19.95 It mounts on the Clark Bender Ok.

Reply:Yes I'd like one too.  Unfortunately, I understand those are pipe dies only?  Or more specifically, that they can bend tube but poorly.A Protools 105 or JD2 Model 3 is more expensive, but, now this should be good for the board, those are AMERICAN made and have high-quality, pipe & tube, square and round dies available. This is one of those instances where I'm holding out. Don't support the Chinese slave barons.
Reply:Thank you to every one who has posted thier two cents or pictures i got lots of ideas. Now and got the blue prints in the best computer of all (my head) but, could some one put some pictures of a bender in use thats what i am not understanding I havent seen one in use yet. Agin Thank You!Hi-Jack
Reply:hi-jack,Check out the following two URLs.www.diacro.com/manuals.htmwww.hossfeldbender.com/The Diacro site actually only has excellent parts breakdowns of its benders and such, but the Hossfeld site gives a number of photos of actual bending processes if you click on the lefthand side topics. Hope this helps. I also, think...maybe it is on Anvilfire's site...that there is a clearer photo run of the Hossfeld bender working through its paces. The Hossfeld bender is copied by most of the other benders out there...although I think Grizzly and maybe Harbor Freight have Diacro copies as well.
Reply:Well, having promised to report back after having received my $65 Harbor Fright (sic) bender, here's the skinny:The first two holes in the movable part were punched so poorly that there was a 5 degree offset between them... in two different planes.   I hauled the offending part to the local HF store, and they ripped open a new one off the shelf and gave me the handle out of it.  The fellow that helped me commented "More fine Chinese craftsmanship" Still, after a little tweaking, I think it will serve my needs for the project at hand, and until I have more justification for paying $500 for  a Shop Outfitters model.
