so my father passed away in march 09, he was a welder for 33 years. sadly i never gained any knowledge about the trade growing up, which brings me to my question.can anyone tell me about this machine (pictured) besides the obvious (lincoln electric ranger 250). im pretty sure he bought it new between 04 & 06? i'm looking to sell both the truck and the welding machine & i don't know how to start pricing it. thanks so much for all your time!!let me know if this picture isn't good enough.thanks again!
Reply:well would be nice if the pictures were a bit clearer and had better lighting. Also what year, make & model is the truck, and mileage. Reply:If you have a local welding suppy house, maybe bring welder by there and see what they think it would bring in a sale from individual to individual in the condition and shape its in.  By the way, where are you located?  Sometimes area of sale has some affect on price.A few of my toys !LinuxMintManjaroMiller Roughneck 2E Lincoln WeldPak 100HTP MTS 160 Chicago Electric 80amp Inverter   Victor O/A

Reply:Okay, thanks for response.  Length of the leads would be the length of the rubber coated wires coming from the welder that the operator would use to weld with.  Sorry for your loss.  Good luck and wish you the best!A few of my toys !LinuxMintManjaroMiller Roughneck 2E Lincoln WeldPak 100HTP MTS 160 Chicago Electric 80amp Inverter   Victor O/A

Reply:well not running and without seeing the whole truck i would say its not worth much.    A better picture of the large wires connected to the welder would give us a better chance at making a guess as to how much "welding lead"  (large cables) there is with the machine. Are there other tools that your selling with the welder and the truck?Vantage 500's LN-25's, VI-400's, cobramatics, Miller migs, synch 350 LX, Powcon inverters, XMT's, 250 Ton Acurrpress 12' brake, 1/4" 10' Atlantic shear,Koikie plasma table W/ esab plasmas. marvel & hyd-mech saws, pirrana & metal muncher punches.
Reply:$2000 on the welder and $2000 on the truck would be fair pricing.MM350P/Python/Q300MM175/Q300DialarcHFHTP MIG200PowCon300SMHypertherm380ThermalArc185Purox oaF350CrewCab4x4LoadNGo utilitybedBobcat250XMT304/Optima/SpoolmaticSuitcase12RC/Q300Suitcase8RC/Q400Passport/Q300Smith op
Reply:Keep the dam thing, learn to use it, and honor your father. You don't have to become a master welder, just dabble.  Just keep the tradition alive. You'll feel good when you play with it, believe me.  Your hands will be in the same place on the machine as your father's were.At the very least, it's a valuable standby generator."Any day above ground is a good day"http://www.farmersamm.com/

Reply:I'm guessing that hour meter is reading 378 hours. This is very little hours for this type of machine. One would expect to have no problems with for another 1500 to 2000 hours of use other than routine maintenance. This is one of the 2 top of the line of Lincoln gasoline powered welders. The next step up would be diesel powered. It having set outside uncovered would bring the price down a little but not much. Even if you don't use it it would be good to start it up every couple of weeks or once a month and run it for about 10 minutes. Depending on the length and gauge of the leads I would start out asking $2500 but in this economy don't feel too bad about $2000. I agree with Farmersam , keep it and learn to use it. Even if you don't weld it is a very good back up generator and will have a longer run time of just about any generator find for $2000.Tough as nails and damn near as smart
Reply:I could see $1500.00-$2000.00 for the welder and $1000.00 for the truck. Better money for the welder closer to LA than say Needles. The welder has a second market as a standby power source.
Reply:so here are the pictures i took today (camera phone sucks) but i hope these are decent.thank you all for your helpful information and inspirations! i never thought about using it myself, it would be pretty neat to at least make some metal art with it! i'm selling it to make room & start clearing this property, i can't live here. long story short. thank you all again for being so helpful. welders are an awesome breed! hahaha.
Reply:oh, and im pretty sure these are the leads you all were talkin bout? still don't know how long they are, but i'm sure you can tell.. they look pretty old.thanks again!
Reply:Well thought & laid out work truck, your could do either, learn how to use it, git it running and sell it later.Good Luck,Bruce The Welding ChefLincoln Weld-Pack 3200 NORWELD StickStanford Hill Farm

Reply:Ok, $1000 on the truck.  $500 would be giving it away.  The bed could sell for that much by itself to the right buyer.  There's a guy on this forum looking for a welding bed right now and another guy selling one for $500 in the for sale section.MM350P/Python/Q300MM175/Q300DialarcHFHTP MIG200PowCon300SMHypertherm380ThermalArc185Purox oaF350CrewCab4x4LoadNGo utilitybedBobcat250XMT304/Optima/SpoolmaticSuitcase12RC/Q300Suitcase8RC/Q400Passport/Q300Smith op
