Ok, been using it last couple days, as soon as I am caught up on the rest of my work will finish the crane off and paint it. Attached Images
Reply:Loading my spare back on. All new straps and new tool boxes for each side. Attached Images
Reply:Ready to roll. I have that board to throw blocks and stuff in front of and built all the little things in to the rack that I need thru the season. Drove it about 200 miles already and was going to the inspector but he is gone for the evening, tomorrow I guess. Will have my mechanic run thru a small punch list first. Drives GREAT, runs excellent. Attached Images
Reply:Man, that is a versatile looking toy you got there, sberry. Now that you're all caught up, how about you come get my old 260Z and put it back together?
Reply:Say S, before you get to paintin it Pink & JD green, just a couple thoghts. There's plenty of space under the body that could accomodate bunks for cribbing timbers & blocks, and where the hell are the outrigger blocks? Now I realize yer a young pup, and don't even need them ladders, BUT Popberry ain't gonna jump up on that deck, so how about puttin some 1 1/4 pipe sockets into the deck so he can have removable handrails above the deck? Might be kind of brilliant to throw a second set of mudflaps ahead of them drive wheels too, to keep the winter slop from collecting on that ladder.Did you remember to put a couple tubes on there to hold the various bars, and jack handles?Appreciation Gains You Recognition-
Reply:Yes, this fall I am going to add another set of flaps mainly becouse our county rd commission loves to put clay on these backroads and 2 rain drops makes a greasy mess. I needed to use thge thing so I had to stop somewhere. I have tool boxes each side and binder handels and a couple pinch bars lay in the drivers side box just right. I have the chokers and slings I use most with some hand tools there too. I found a nice place to store my 40$ fiberglass handle shovel too. If you look at the first pic you might be able to see the old timers handle on that first set of steps on the headache rack,,, kind of looks like a 7, the black blends in making it hard to see. The other ones without handles are decorations as much but also work well when hauling a couple special machines. I sized the tubes on the rack to take 4x4's for an additional when I want to haul straw bales.www.urkafarms.com
Reply:Well S, it's like this, I've been contacted by PopBerry via the old goat network, and he tells me since you don't never listen to a damn thing he tells ya I should humiliate you into properly equipping that truck to Old Fart Friendly, especially since yer too dang stubborn to install the geezer elevator for him to use.He also said he don't understand why the hell you paid $40- for a dang shovel as ya never yet found one that fit yer hands or learned to properly operate a dang shovel. So, get them dang geezer handles installed NOW.Appreciation Gains You Recognition-
Reply:I used to use one of those Hiab booms to deliver crates of glass. They are a smooth machine! Very handy too.
Reply:The truck mechanic/inspector was impressed. He had worked on this truck before I got it so he knew about it. He has insp 3 of mine this season, he figures I do it right. I use the same guy for mu annuals and having the reputation of keeping them up to par pays off, I figure its better to have him say good job than bust my ***. Just makes life easier. Its one of the things I have found when dealing with inspectors anywhere. They have enough scabs to pick on that a guy that makes the effort usually gets treated fairly well.www.urkafarms.com |
