Crazy question. Restoring an old mustang and noticed as I get older, it's getting harder and harder to see. Its bad enough having to wear reading glasses, but when you get into some of the dark corners and crevices it's really hard finding your starting point before striking an arc. The gun, trouble light, helmet and me are all fighting for the same spot. Do they make a mini flashlight attachment for a mig gun?

Reply:Just make sure you make the light heat resistant, otherwise you'll have some pretty cranky customers! But I run in to that problem quite often, mostly just because my shop has pretty crappy lighting in my booth all the way on the end, lol. I feel so neglected sometimes.
Reply:What Nitesky said. Wish there was a clearinghouse for good ideas we would like to see built.
Reply:I went by harbor freight and picked up a small $9 dollar LED light and $2 velcro straps. I believe if I place the LED down by the trigger, away from the arc, it should be good to go.....I'll let you folks know how it works. |
