so after reading forever i finally got my syncro and got it ready to go........i was so excitedso i fired her up for a maiden voyage......then feartig is gonna take some getting used toi fooled around for about an hour and got the general idea but im sure there are some tips you guys could help with to speed up the learning process......thanks Attached Images
Reply:1. Practice,2. Practice,3. Practice some more.Actually it's a skill you have to train your muscles to do. If you've ever done any O/A welding, the motions are similar. Or so I've been told.Get comfortable, have some arm/hand support & practice short beads. No dipping the tip of the tungsten & practice a whole lot. Reply:Sit down with some clean ground steel and get a feel for what happens to the puddle as you play with the pedal. Melt holes, ease up an make the puddle bigger and smaller as you move. You want to control the heat. Then get a puddle started and move it up to the rod. Let the puddle not the arc melt the rod and chase the rod with the puddle keeping the rod on the plate as you go. Then you can start dipping the rod into the puddle and removing it as you move.Keep things simple at first. Don't try to learn all the steps at once. Get an feeling and understanding whats going on then put all the parts together. There's been tons of threads on this. A search will give you tons to read with a lot more detail. I know I've gone into more depth on posts in the past, but don't have the time this evening. Good luck..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size.
