What force do you keep the feed rate on your HF band saws. Can someone give me an idea in pounds? This is the 64.5 HF bandsaw.
Reply:Lbs of pressure onna HF 64.5" bandsawHow would you even measure it? You put some sorta gauge on the Spring? Also each material going in to a saw requires different pressure- and Tubing presents another challenge as it has more surface area on the top then on the sides--- slow and then when it breaks through the tops it boogies on down until it makes contact with the bottom.I took the spring off. The weight of the saw seems to be about right for the thicker solid stock, which is about 1/2" Flat bar and some 1" solid round.Tube I do by hand.Ed Conleyhttp://www.screamingbroccoli.com/MM252MM211 (Sold)Passport Plus & Spool gunLincoln SP135 Plus- (Gone to a good home)Klutch 120v Plasma cutterSO 2020 benderBeer in the fridge
Reply:I have spring scales (sciene nerd).By hand do you mean hack saw?
Reply:Down Feed pressure by hand ; I can start slow and then push it through the sides of the tubing faster and then back off when I get to the bottom.Ed Conleyhttp://www.screamingbroccoli.com/MM252MM211 (Sold)Passport Plus & Spool gunLincoln SP135 Plus- (Gone to a good home)Klutch 120v Plasma cutterSO 2020 benderBeer in the fridge
