First off, in addition to the topic, I also have to add I'm a dummy. When I was buying a torch for my TB 302, I ended up getting a Weldcraft CS300.When I was looking at it, I was like.. why on earth do I need a gas valve on my torch? I never needed one before, it will only add weight! So I ordered the CS300, then when I was changing the connection on the 25ft 0/1 cable it came with, (to a tweeco quick connect male, to match the connection for my stick connection on the TB302)... I realized... I have no way to shut the gas off, aside from going to the cylinder and turning it off manually. Since I should have ordered the CS300V.Is there an easy way to stick a valve on the gas hose near the torch or anything?I'm thinking I'm better off ordering a new CS300V torch body ($86), and calling it a day.But experienced input is always valuable :]Next Question: What is a good way to hook up a Purge on an Argon cylinder? What to buy, to tap in to a gas hose (I have a small 6' that came with the regulator I bought, that I don't mind cutting/crimping on a new outlet)This is what I have specifically.http://www.weldfabulous.com/Cutting-...-p4540950.htmlThen one more question...A Bonus question! :]How can I tell what type of hook up is on my existing CS300 torch? The Gas/Power hook up, that is.I would actually like to buy a small torch as well (the CS300 is 300amp/60% Duty).I'd like to get a smaller one, that is much lighter and easier to work with for lower amp applications. Although, I'd like to re-use the power/gas hose if possible. (Copper is expensive!)In the parts listing, it's only listed as CS300-25PC, so I don't see a way to reference that to another torch, to be positive for a fit.Or is the connection there pretty universal among weldcraft air cooled torches?I'm actually trying to get a water cooled setup... But they're fairly expensive :]So this will work for the short term!
Reply:If your torch has the 2 completely seperate power cable and gas hose, you could splice in a ball valve right before the torch.  If it has the combination power cable and gas hose in one hose, you're outta luck, need a new torch body with the valve.Unless you're tig'ing some heavy stuff on the road, or doing whole lotta tig on the road, I would stay with air cooled.  Water cooled is just more stuff to lug around.  I love it in the shop, but wouldn't want it on the truck.  I don't have room for a cooler on the truck anyways and the truck is already overloaded so carrying around unnecessary weight isn't in the plan. Most tig torches come with a Dinse (International) connector to the machine.  There are adaptors to convert between Dinse and Tweco and you can make short adaptor cables to convert between small and large Tweco and Dinse that the pre-made adaptors may not cover.MM350P/Python/Q300MM175/Q300DialarcHFHTP MIG200PowCon300SMHypertherm380ThermalArc185Purox oaF350CrewCab4x4LoadNGo utilitybedBobcat250XMT304/Optima/SpoolmaticSuitcase12RC/Q300Suitcase8RC/Q400Passport/Q300Smith op
Reply:As far as purge gas from the same tank as the torch you can get a Y with valves that attaches to the reg to split it. I think Steve (7A749) may have posted his set up here or posibly over on Mzone. I can't find the link right now. PM him. IIRC he had some spares he was looking to sell a while back..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Reply:I use a T on the tank valve and seperate regulators for purge and torch.  A little more $$ but a better set up IMO.

Reply:I use the same Y-valve as Dabar for connecting 2 machines to the same bottle, but I don't run both machines at the same time.  There is only one flowmeter, so there would be no way to set the flow seperately for each device running at the same time. The purpose of the Y for me is just so that I don't have to keep swapping hose connections.  I just open the appropriate ball valve and close the other.MM350P/Python/Q300MM175/Q300DialarcHFHTP MIG200PowCon300SMHypertherm380ThermalArc185Purox oaF350CrewCab4x4LoadNGo utilitybedBobcat250XMT304/Optima/SpoolmaticSuitcase12RC/Q300Suitcase8RC/Q400Passport/Q300Smith op
