weird smell while tig welding ? any help is appreciated please

Okay I have an older syncrowave 300 tig maching Ive been using it for about 3 years now Im not an expert welder by any means, I mostly use it for exhaust pipes, and misc fabrication parts I need to make to build the custom harleys that I do long story short I got a new profax torch the other day because I got sick of trying to find consumables for my old torch (it was a very old weldcraft torch)Im now noticing that Im getting a very bad smell which smells like gas or something like it it actually makes me almost want to vomit Ive never had this problem before Im using the same bottles with the same gas as I was with the old torch same tungsten etc. the only thing I changed was the torch and Im using a foot pedal now instead of the thumb switch I had been using the new torch has a gas knob on it but I have it just slightly cracked open I tried the gas setting on the torch itself in just about every range of motion and Im still getting that awful vapor like smell please can any help me out on this one im truly at a loss thanks

Reply:the old torch is completely broken if the new torch was burning up anywhere wouldnt I feel it in the torch I removed the sleeve by the handle on the torch and the cable and gas line look brand new no signs of any wear or anything like that ? Im truly at a loss on this one again any suggestions are appreciated could it be something with the foot pedal ?

Reply:I had a second bout of it in the same area, doc threw some really strong meds at it and its completely gone now and healed up nicely! Damn hogs! #1. Reply:Its gone away for now I just finished welding up some exhaust pipes and an oil tank over the weekend cant figure out what the hell it was I took the torch apart and it was clean inside I just changed to a new piece of tungsten, and it seems to have gone away,thanks for all the replys it still confuses me as to what it might have been but its gone for now so thats good enough for me
