I was bored the other day and was wondering the web looking for "stuff". I came upon this site and started browsing all the projects. Well, I'm happy to say that got me jump started to make some changes to a smoker I built three years ago. This Smoker has earned me a few trophies including a first place in Ribs. So I figured since the ole thing has been good to me I'd give er some "touch ups". I had a Brinkman smoker that I haven't used since building this one so I decided to hack it up and place it on my smoker and use it as a fire box. The plan as of now is to line the bottom and with 1/4 plate and add some doors for the lower grates. Currently the lower grate was used for the fire and all cooking was done on the upper grate. Without a fire box you could only use half the grill to indirect cook. Then I'm adding a fold out table and wood box to the trailer. Also planning to instal the railing on trailer that I promised myself I'd do three years ago. Well as I get more completed I'll update the pictures. Thanks to this site I'm working on something other that that darn Rocket. LOL  (sorry for the picture quality, I'll take others outside, but today it's raining, snowing, sleeting and plain miserable) Attached Images
Reply:Also upgrading smoke stacks with chrome pipes.  I know most grill builders will disagree with me but the small stacks I had on this grill helped keep the heat in. I never had to fire this thing hard to smoke at 225 degrees. If you can't get the air out you can't get the air in therefore it made this grill easy to use and hold a constant temp.(if you look at the above picture the right stack is the original size)Below pict shows the lower fire grate. This grate was movable to adjust direct heat when cooking beer can chickens. Attached Images
Reply:One more pict showing modified Brinkman smoker being attached to Grill. Legs are next and then railing for trailer and fold out tables. Attached Images
Reply:Last years project. My HH135 came in handy mounting body braces and bumpers. Wasn't enough for welding the upper A-arm brackets to the stock front clip. Used the companies Miller for that. Attached Images
Reply:I'm panning another BBQ grill out of a 150 gallon tank. I need to find a motor to run the rotisserie. Wanting to do a chain drive like Southern Yankee BBQ does. http://www.sybbq.com/basic_units.php Any help would be appreciated. Attached Images
Reply:Maybe a gearmotor off ebay would work just make sure its got enough nut to run constantly.
Reply:Here are a couple of links to a place I frequent, they have everything:http://www.meci.com/Catalog/Category...1-0c80a6cf6d6bhttp://www.meci.com/Catalog/Category...d-1e0b5917b1bbhttp://www.meci.com/Catalog/Category...3-289570011e86Last edited by gimpyrobb; 02-06-2005 at 03:28 PM.
