Hastalloy C-276, can it be welded to 304 SST

Hi All, This is my first question on this forum.  I would like to know if Hastalloy C-276, can it be welded to 304 SST?  Is there any other alloy close to the properties of Hastalloy C-276?Thanks,skipper
Reply:Im not sure how it would go to SS.  I think it would be OK depending on the application.( im sure someone will help out ).Here is a link to a site that has Hastealloy C-276 electrodes and wire.http://www.haynesintl.com/pdf/hw7018.pdf...now that i look at the link, it might just be a 7018.

Reply:Welding of nickel based alloys to 300 series SS should not pose any problem with regard to the welding itself. Use a filler that matches either material, suggest cheaper 300 series would do in most cases.This is an unusual material combination, can you provide the service application ? Dependent on this, some additional precautions may be required.Cheers
