My latest project: 48" Front-Mount Dethatcher for my Lazer Z.Fabbed with mostly 2" x 1/8 angle....cut into flats and squareed where needed. Mig welded. The dethatcher pan w/tines is from a tow-behind unit...wheels are 7'' steel w/bearings. Everything else is hand fabbed...including the casters.I still need to work out a lift assembly...but the ol' rope worked fine for todays trial run. Works like a charm! It really pulled the leaves and thatch well. I'm thinking about using a small electric winch (DC power/2000 lb cap.) as the "lift"....and controlling it with a rocker switch mounted on my control panel. This would be handy as I plan on using this setup with my core aerator and slit aerator.....while continuing to pull my spreader behind the ZTR. This would make seeding and ferting a breeze. Once I get the 'lift' system worked out, I want to fab up a 60" rake for it...to match my deck. Then I'll break it down, dress the welds and edges, and give it several coats of paint.SLS has attached these images:(1)(2)Last edited by SLS; 03-25-2005 at 12:56 AM. |
