I just got my new toy for the spot welder. I ordered one of those $20 variable speed router boxes to see if that would work. It`s a 15A variable SCR.Works like a charm!! Now for thin stainless I can shange the settings down right to the point where it barely gets it warm!

Reply:Glad to hear it works. Even more surprised that it even works! Those speed controls work with A-C universal motors, the type with brushes and should be used with A-C only devices. Go figure?
