I am putting a new gate on my trailer,it sits 20" off the ground and has a 5 ft gate on it now but the angle is too steep for an outfront mower,I considered putting a dovetail on it,but didnt want the trailer dragging in dips,My new ramp will be 6 ft.,a little bit tall when up ,but what can ya do.My current gate is made of 1/4" angle,really heavy,I have a spring assist so that helps.Is 1/4" really needed if the heavist thing being loaded is about 1700lbs.I was thinking about using 3/16",Any comments,thanks---Mike K.
