I run a tactical shooting school and need to improve weapons security. I have a reinforced concrete vault and need to fabricate a steel rack for wall mounting that would afford some great security (I realize pros will have a plasma cutter with them!) from the amateur thief. My problem is I have many shotguns, rifles, carbines, submachine guns, handguns and suppressors of all calibers and types so I need flexibility as to location of supporting hooks and securing bars etc.Can anyone point me to any plans/specifications?
Reply:Send some pics of the vault now and I'll give you some ideas of what I have in mind, if it looks like I think it looks like. My friends and I operate alot of [email protected] B & B Fabrication and Welding Inc.Spalding, MI.
Reply:I do not have pix and dont think they will help any. Basically it is a rectangular room with reinforced concrete walls, ceiling and floor approximately 16'X9" with 93" ceiling. It is dehumidified, lighted, alarmed and has one entrance--a 500 lbs UL certified prison door in steel frame secured to rebar in wall. The wall area I pan to use is 62' long coming out of a corner of the room. Basically I need a steel wall rack that will accommodate up to 20 long and subguns, 25 handguns and 6 suppressors of varying lengthas and diameters. I want to be able to quickly confirm they are all in place at a glance so dont want to use a safe or cabinet. I have an old Lincoln arc welder. |
