HEllo, my buddies and I all ride dirtbikes, and Im looking into building us a nice size portable jump outa angle iron and some plywood for the surface. We'll be making some of our riding videos soon. Does anyone know the right pitch/angle I should have, or has anyone built one before, im thinking of going 3ft wide, and 12ft at the highest point, about 8ft or so from the bottom from the ground, to the bottom of the side that is going up the 12ft, I may sound confusing but Ill post some pics of what Im looking to build soon. Thanks

Reply:My son would love to get his hands on one of these. I wouldn't mind us building one but I would like more information. Like material used and measurements. I understand that you should be able to customize them to your needs but not having to start from scratch would be good. I would definitely want to be able to disassemble and move the jump around.
Reply:Gotta be a lot of math involved there. Especially in the degree of the arc per distance of run, versus what you want to accomplish after launch, as in height or distance etc.. Eeeegads, don't have a clue..
Reply:I found a site that has plans, and other pics of these ramps. its www.fmxschool.com , I may get some software to help me deign one, I have drawn several plans that we like but I want to build it right the first time. |
