I am looking for some standard or reference that would suggest what Amps, cover gas tungston and feel rate to use for Tig welding stainless steel foil to stainless steel blocks (thicker material then the foil). If anyone has a suggestion on a reference, standard or book, please.Thank you,BennyB
Reply:One other note.  I have been doing this type of weld without filler mateirals with some success but wanted to try and improve my settings to get even better results.
Reply:Wow! I thought I had to weld thin stuff! Thinnest I've done was 0.010. And that was to more 0.010.
Reply:Cant say I've ever seen a reference for anything that thin.  But I do have experience welding thin metal but not thin stainless.  If your machine has pulse use it if you're not already.  Almost everything I do is fused.  Turn your machine high enough to get a puddle formed on your thick material then whip your puddle to the edge of your thin material till it fuses.  Depending on what the finished product is I would only use filler for catching any holes.
