I'm looking for some small to meduim size projects, I just started welding the past summer and looking for something to impove my skills. Anything you guys can post to help me out? Thanks ahead of time.
Reply:In welding class in high school, we always started out with making a simple grille. Don't do a big one. Start out small...about the size of a little weber. That way you can manipulate it easily. Another couple of threads here that have a bunch of small projects...some simple...some advanced.http://www.weldingweb.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=1451http://www.weldingweb.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=2998Smithboy...if it ain't broke, you ain't tryin'.
Reply:If you don't have anything that you need to make in mind and you just want to fiddle, then you can make yard art. That is what I do when I just want to do "anything". I just go through Internet kids coloring books and look for flowers, animals, barns, houses..... that look interesting and take out a 4x8 sheet of 12-18 Gage metal and start cutting and welding. If they turn out good, then it makes good Christmas gifts for family, if it looks bad, then I just used it for practice. (If you see it a year after Christmas a your aunts house, you did a good job. If it "broke", then practice more). You can also find yard art ideas looking through landscaping mags and books. Hope this helps,Alex
Reply:Carts for your tool are good projects. Cart for welder. Cart for o/a tanks. www.metalwebnews.com has some project that might interest you. |
