what is wrong with this

i have an old millermatic 35, until yesterday it was working good.  now when i try to weld it does not sound like chicken frying(the sound it should sound like when welding properly) i get very sparatic poping sounds, and pools of weld,not rows.  the wire seems to be feeding good, gas is good, checked the ground lead, so what else could it be.  thanks,  jasonLast edited by cowhead5065; 12-14-2009 at 01:51 PM.
Reply:gas full?  does it have ac/dc swapping capabilities?  is it set up for inner shield (no gas) while you're trying to weld with gas?I'm a noob with mig, thats all i can come up with.
Reply:no it was working fine then all the suden it just quit working like it is suppose to.
Reply:You might have lost a diode. Check with a multimeter to be sure. Reply:cranked the wire speed all the way up and that definately helped.  seems like the wire gets kinked, so do i need to replace the liner?  thanks for all the help
