We do some brazing (induction and torch) for the Navy. We have a project that calls for torch brazing to AWS C3.4 (no class specified so we are assuming Class C). For the brazing alloy we're told to use Welding Rod per AWS A5.14 Type II, Class 5, .125" dia. This some sort of Nickel alloy rod.Problem - we can't cross over the Type and Class to the ER numbers. Anyone know what the current equivalent material is?Any idea if the Nickel rod be used for brazing? What Flux?By the way - the parts we're brazing are plain-old 1018 C'steel. Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.Steve |
