does anyone know anything about the hobart 125 ez and why it does not have a wire speed control. please give me some fedback on how good or bad the 125 ez is.
Reply:I haven't checked it since I already have a mig. I think wire speed is set automatically hence the EZ designation.DennisThermal Arc 185-TSWMillermatic Challenger 172VictorO/AAtlas Craftsman 12 by 24 LatheEsab PCM-875Wholesalem Tool Mill-Drill
Reply:It has some very thorough reviews from some members at Hobart's Weld Talk forum who did the beta testing.Even the MIG pros were very impressed with the EZ and recommend it highly for dedicated 120V FCAW work.I almost bought one for a small truck FCAW unit, but it hadn't quite shown up at the vendors yet, and I got a good deal on the reconditioned HH135 instead.I'd still get one if I needed to go that route without needing GMAW capability. Wire speed is automatic (set by material thickness, along with voltage) as it is only designed for steel FCAW with .030" and .035" wires, so not much to fiddle with. |
