Hi guys......its me again...lolI built a new frame to replace my current mill table a few weeks ago but since then ive been doing some other projects and was using it to hold up my mini lathe and I used it to hold up the torch cart I made so it kinda got covered in paint and oil. Today i decided to clean it up and finish it off so the following are a bunch of pics I took while finishing it up. Sorry I didn't get any pics when I was building the frame for it. I'll have to make multiple posts to get all the pics in. Attached Images

Reply:Looks great you do some good work. What thickness sheet did you use for the shelves? I'm sure that mill has some weight to it.
Reply:Thanks for the compliment Brick. The sheet is 1/16" plate but if you look at the top of the table frame you will see there are 2 extra pieces of 1/8X1X1 square tube inset from the end of the table for support. The actual mill is supposed to weigh in at around 600lbs. All I know is its %#&$'n heavy..lolThe sheet is basically there just for something to bolt the mill down to and keep it from moving around and also to keep the millings from falling thru onto the lower shelves. The frame will support the mill even without the plate on it. The base of the mill is cut in such a way that only about 3-4 inches from the corners actually sit on the table. When I'm in the garage this afternoon I'll snap another pic of the base so you can see what I mean.
Reply:Hi BrickI took a pic for you to show the bottom of the mill. Attached Images
Reply:your mig skills are very good at this point..keep up the good work..cleaner is better and whenever you weld tubing of any shape..clean the inside as best you can also..grease and oil "wick" up to heat pretty fast and contamination will result.. ...zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:With the weight of that mill looks like your going to need to bribe some friends with beer and pizza to help you move that mill to its new table!!!!
Reply:Thanks for the weld compliment Zap, and thats an excellent tip about the wicking That tubing was new when I welded it a few weeks ago and the only oil on it was from when I was using it for a bench for my mini lathe to turn one shaft so most any oil on it was on the outside. I did hose it down pretty good with brake clean when I was ready to start welding.Hey Brick..........what ya doin next week end ??
