I posted a few weeks ago with my first weld pics. Thanks for the tips. I'm now finished my first project,a flat deck for my 1984 toyota truck. I made it out of2" steel tube (1/8" thick) for the square frame, and2" (3/16" thick) c channel for the cross members. At each end there is 2" angle iron. The stained 2x6 floor boardsrest on the cross members and the angle iron.I got a 1/8" steel sheet from the scrap yard and a friendcut the holes in it for the tail lights. I used myLincoln Mig Pak 15 (same as 175T) with .035 fluxcore wire.Attached are some pics.Graeme Attached Images

Reply:Good job, Mate.I like the toolbox. What is the extra compartment for a fuel can? When the lid is closed and locked will the lip on the lid stop the can from being removed?. Simonhttp://members.optusnet.com.au/~abba/index.htmlLast edited by welder.man; 08-11-2006 at 03:43 PM.
Reply:Looks good man. I have a '88 Dodge Ram that is going under some serious surgery and will also get a flat bed, maybe even a dump flat.

Reply:The extra compartment was originally for a fire extinguisher..Got the box from an old forestry truck. Don't really need it nowso I'll take that part off I think. But you were right, with thelid closed the extinguisher can't come out.Graeme Originally Posted by welder.manGood job, Mate.I like the toolbox.
