I imagine that these are getting old now, but here is my new welding cart. It is for my Hobart 180. The shelf below is for a dedicated welding toolbox, but it will also be for a future plasma cutter. The top shelf is for gloves and helmet. I think that I am going to strip the paint off of the shelves and herculine them. Dimensions are 16x40 and 40 inches tall. The extra width is to allow for 2 80 cu ft tanks. It is made from 1 1/4" angle, 1" square tubing, and 1/8" plate. The wheels are 7" steel lawnmower wheels and 3" casters. The casters will be upgraded to 4" as the small ones snag on shopfloor crud...When I finished the cart, I opened my welder to see that I only had 2 turns of .035 wire on the spool. This cart polished off my first 2 lb spool of wire!Last edited by kindstranger; 09-24-2006 at 09:56 PM.Reason: Making image link hot.
Reply:I was debating over buying more 2lb spools or a larger spool. I bought the larger spool and it may be lasting me too long now I need to find some more projects to build I am thinking about building another mini chopper or a barstool racer this winter. Will Supports Autism Awareness My ToysBobCat 225 PLusMillermatic 130Miller Spectrum 300 CutmateEverlast Power Tig 185 Micro April is Autism Month .

Where hot sparks hit, it seemed to burn such that a later scrubbing reduced it down to the base layer of polymer. Also, the rough surface does not lend itself to be brushed off when dusty.Something like rubber carpet runner material would provide cushion for your shelves, be easily replaceable when damaged and can be taken off the cart and hosed off when you accidentally spill an adult beverage, (again, from my own experience).
