Just picked up a miller 375 plasma cutter, and wanted to insure I'm injecting dry air, so I picked up a filter/separater from H/F.  Notice it has a lubricator.  How does the lubricator impact the plasma cutter, and should I leave it dry?  I normally lube my gear manually, every couple of uses.

Reply:You are proabably still going to want a better filter than that on a plasma. You want one of the cartidge filters like the use for paint. I don't have the part number at hand right now, but the ones I think I got last time were Motor Gaurd filters. A quick search on this should get you the info on models numbers and so on, it's been covered many times. That seperator will not get the air dry enough for plasma in most cases. You want air quality equal to that you would use with a good paint job. Consumable life will suffer with moisture in the air..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Actually, a government bureau is the nearest thing to eternal life we'll ever see on this earth! Ronald Reagan
Reply:I sell Motorgaurd filter units with all my plasmas. This is an option that I basically tell people they have to buy. I don't want them to be replacing torches at $500 a pop or High Freq boards . This has been the best filter I have seen.
