Reply:The short answer might be yes, but only certain types (grades)What you have not told us is :What grade of stainless-The filler wire grade may need to be spot on in some applications. Some grades ie the martensetic 400 series are not readily weldable/How much stainless are we dealing with, length, width, thickness, odd shape What ?What application is the stainless steel intended for.Is it for a marine environment, decrorative use or something else'Do you own the machine already or were you considering purchasing it.How much welding is do be done. You may own the machine already but purchasing another cylinder of gas and a spool of wire will knock a hole in your budget if the job is only a small one off.300 series stainless, for instance may also be stick welded ,oxy welded and tig welded. each diffrent process suits the grade ,specific application, and economics better than another.A little more information on what you want to achieve will help the other contributors help you to obtain the best outcome for your project.Something to considerGrahame
Reply:For Stainless Fluxcore All Position I use 100% CO2 with Kobelco .045 wire on the Millermatic 251. Brian |
