Found the oldest engine drive welder built

I went to look at a new shop to rent yesterday and found this gem sitting in the corner of the shop.   It appears to be sitting on a ford Model T frame and axel.  The engine is a Ford flat head V8.  The welder is a Holbart.  I am figuring its from the 1930's. Reply:That Duro rod holder is just like the ones I use today. They are great, no springs and hold tight. I didn't know they had been around that long.

Reply:Looks like a World War II Army Engineer Corps weldor designed to sit in the back of a jeep and be PTO powered.  Those machines were built & sold by Hobart Bros well into the 50s.
